Biographie:
Gudrun Wallenböck ist die Gründerin und künstlerische Leiterin von hinterland mit Sitz in Wien. hinterland ist eine unabhängige Plattform und ein Kunstraum, der sich mit Kunst und Künstler/innen vorwiegend aus dem Nahen und Mittleren Osten beschäftigt. Seit 2008 kuratiert sie interdisziplinäre interkulturelle Projekte, Workshops und Ausstellungen.
Gudrun Wallenböck ist Gründerin von Hinterland Design und Ko-Gründerin von Sitios - internationales Netzwerk zu urbanen Lösungen für den öffentlichen Raum, Teil des Advisory Boards von Simorgh - eine Stiftung zu interkulturellem Verständnis zwischen dem Iran und Europa und Mitglied im Vorstand der Österreichisch Pakistanischen Gesellschaft.
Gudrun Wallenböck war im Projekt - und Programmteam von den zwei europäischen Kulturhauptstädten in Österreich (Linz2009 und Graz 2003), hat einen Abschluss in Architektur und in internationalem Kulturmanagement und absolvierte ein PhD Studium in angewandter Kulturwissenschaft.
Biography:
Gudrun Wallenböck holds Master´s degrees in Architecture and in Arts Management and received her PhD at the University of Performing Arts in Vienna. She is the founder and Artistic Director of hinterland, Vienna, an independent art space and platform dedicated to the promotion of intercultural and interdisciplinary projects. Since its inception hinterland has remained committed to supporting the work of emerging and established artists from the Middle East and in particular artists living and working in Iran.
Gudrun is the founder of Hinterland Design and co-founded Sitios, a global network on urban solutions for public space. She is a core member of the programming team for 2 European Capitals of Europe (2003 Graz, 2009 Linz). Since 2009 Gudrun has been working as a curator and designer for international and intercultural projects and sits on the advisory board of the SIMORGH Foundation that promotes intercultural dialogue through its bases in Vienna and Tehran and of the Austrian Pakistan Society. She also lectures at the University of Applied Arts Vienna and the University of Fine Arts, Linz.
