AUSSTELLUNGSTEXT:
“Metamorphosis of Shame” is a deeply personal and emotionally reflective exhibition exploring the often unspoken influence of shame on our lives. It explores how shame shapes our beliefs about ourselves, our bodies and our desires. The exhibition invites visitors to consider the unspoken burdens we carry, pressures not only from ourselves but also society, family, and even cultural traditions that tell us how we should behave or who we should be. At the same time, it should offer hope by encouraging reflection on how we can break free from these inherited feelings of inadequacy. "Metamorphosis of Shame" invites visitors to explore how confronting these deeply ingrained emotions and letting go of these burdens can lead to a more empowered and authentic life by ultimately offering a space for healing and transformation.
The exhibition is structured in three stages, each exploring a different aspect of the theme. It begins with a sense of entrapment — being caught within systems that suppress and silence the self. This is followed by a phase of introspection, offering space for reflection and healing. Finally, the journey culminates in a liberated expression of one’s true spirit.
Each participating artist engages with the concept of shame through the lens of their own lived experience, contributing unique and deeply personal perspectives. Together, these works form a collective space for emotional honesty, vulnerability, and transformation.
